Emily’s debut book of essays Some Girls is out now from Galileo Press.
In her debut essay collection Some Girls, May considers womanhood in America, the work of Oliver Stone and Richard Linklater, playing sports with boys, and making lattes while ignoring student loan bills, among other adventures. In the more than fourteen years May spent writing Some Girls, she watched as her own artistic process evolved. From writing less for accolades and more from essential need, to finding and letting new artists influence her work, May reflects on these shifts in Some Girls.
